LightsOut w/ Al Kent (BBE/Million Dollar Disco) & Joe Wilson

It’s been almost 2 years since disco edit king Al Kent joined us in the booth: his production is near limitless. Having released on the likes of Razor N Tape, BBE, Kojak, Cree Records and his own Million Dollar Disco label, to name but a few. As well as this, he has exemplified an encyclopedic knowledge of disco over the years, releasing multiple compilations of rare music with his Disco Love series, The Best Of Disco Demands and the most recent Men In The Glass Booth album.

Earlier this year he sold out St Luke’s by bringing down a 10-piece band, 4 vocalists and a 26-piece orchestra to pay tribute to the Stars Of Salsoul Records, a truly historical event! The Million Dollar Orchestra was a project created by Al in an attempt to take disco edits a step further, in a more authentic direction through the use of live musicians. A project which he sold a large chunk of his extensive record collection to fund!

50% of proceeds on the night will go to Theatre Nemo, a wonderful mental health charity and performing arts group; who provide those struggling with mental health issues not only with support but opportunities to express themselves through creativity. The group’s work in Glasgow is invaluable, please check out their Facebook page for more info.

It’s the Saturday before Christmas; let’s have one last disco before we wave off another year!

Support from Joe Wilson.
