Caught somewhere between frantic art-rock and the idiosyncratic looseness of slacker, Leeds quartet, Mush, make heavy yet angular guitar tracks that are intelligent and playful. Fresh from touring with some of the best names in modern guitar music such as, OMNI, Ulrika Spacek and Parquet Courts, the boys are back with their latest song, which is set to drop on September 14th via the new Dipped in Gold label.

In keeping with their previous lyrical content, such as the Marc Riley lauded, ‘Alt-Facts’ that dealt with Trump’s Fake News, ‘Gig Economy’ has frontman, Daniel Hyndman addressing the financial impossibility of trying to survive in the 21st-century. His sardonic lyrics weave through layers of thudding bass and infectious energetic guitar work, culminating in one euphoric groove of a track that really gets your heart pumping. Its that wry nineties sense of humour, made famous by Pavement, meets those churning guitar lines synonymous with the southern American scene. One things for sure – this is angular modern Indie at its best.
